you didnt do a "read full flash from phone" before you wrote it?
silly...

because also, if that reading process has errors, Rolis will say "the checksums are wrong! try increasing the delay index and DONT write that file!"

or something

How does Nasiriyan flasher compare with GeoFLASH? I'm using that now, and I must say it's a lot nicer than Rolis :D

well, i'd disagree, because rolis performs excellently on my system. Maybe your computer is too old/slow or fast/new or you jsut plain up didnt set something up correctly.. the different softwares all work in different ways so maybe one software is more suited to your machine/phone/cable combination than another.. it doesnt mean that the other software is gay though..

overall, i'd say that rolis is more popular than geoflash

Oh look at that! Does Nasiryan flasher resemble another popular program for flashing? Knok95 perhaps?

So sad, when lemurs take some other persons work and put their name on it...

Yeah, Rolis IS more popular, but perhaps it might be because it's been around longer than Geo :)

but I guess in the end, they all do different things. I like Geo better, so I reckon it's nicer -- for me 8-)

I agree that Rolis's Best Flasher 4 ever

lol, alright :p

If you are missing any loaders, just use the Knok ones.

Hi all,
I thought i would post my findings here to try and help:

I recently got hold of a 5210, tried to flash it, and both rolis and knok failed to connect properly. But, just their checks were enough to kill the phone. After a lot of messing about with delays etc with no success, i think i have come across the solution. For me anyway. So far with other phones i have needed external power on the cable for it to work (approx 4v). As a last resort, i disconnected it, and flashed with no power to the cable. And to my surprise, it worked ! It took a few attempts at setting FAID, but now all is fine. And i will now leave the phone alone ! I used rolis 4.78, and nokiatool 1.8. But, if you have been using your flash cable ok with its internal supply (from LPT pins 3 & 5), you may be ok, or you may need to disconnect those two pins, i really don't know as i don't use it that way.

But if you really want my advice from my experience, I WOULD LEAVE 5210's ALONE !! THEY DON'T LIKE BEING FLASHED ON A SIMPLE CABLE !!

Mark.

Actually, seems like it's Rolis that kills phones. I use GeoFLASH now, and all is well :) Actually, it was well a long time ago... :p
