I'm looking to purchase either a cable to link my PC to my 6100, or alternatively I was going to buy an IRd transmitter for the PC and connect using this.
My question is this. Will any IRd transmitter work with the phone and are they reliable, or would I get a more stable connection using a cable?
Thanks in advance for any help.

I have tried both method, it does not make any difference as long for infra red you really got to keep your phone in range with the reciever, whereas cable you dun have to worry abt anything.

In my experince IRDA you would be better off using a cable connection, you can get a good cheap usb one from www.ebuyer.co.uk comes with software needed as well.

I'm using the IrDA adapter (MATRIX USB actually). It is just perfect, it is small so I can carry that in my pocket with me. It has a same USB connector like printers or scanners so you can plug it in everywhere. Need drivers actually. Just a little bit complication in installation (have to set other type of receiver in driver) but that is all.
