On every single other Nokia I've had, I could put a * or a - by the name and it would end up at the bottom of the list so I could get to it easily.

What methods do people use on here to do that? The only solution I've found upto now is putting an 'a' before the name, fairly crap really.

But that's the thing, the special character thing doesn't work on the 6600!

juz put an & in front of the name, so its the last on list, or put z in it.

& doesn't work. I've tried the 'a' thing already, which is the only way that works but is annoying also.

Why can't I just put a - in front like the last contact book! It just ignore's it.

Try assigning them to speed-dials...

Failing that... when you want to find somone quickly... (say a name beginning with "R" for example" press the joystick (to go in to your contacts) and just press "7" three times...

When typing a SMS/MMS, it defaults to text (Not numbers) in the "to:" box right? So press "7" three times (so you get an "R") and then press the joystick... this brings up a short list of everyone who's first (or 2nd) name begins with "R". Easy when U know how!

It's mainly for text messages. I know about the way you've just mentioned but just pressing up once is easier. I thought I'd be able to just put a - in front of the name like every other Nokia I've had. Nothing major, just kinda annoying.
