View Full Version : How to calculate lock 2 using DCT3 calc!!

I am not sure but have found some info that others can use to help.

I dont have griffin clip, but i am using the free online DCT3 calc
( http://82.182.97.174/ ) to try and suss out how to calculate code 2. (this maybe a problem if it has restricted input rules).

Anyway to calculate code 2 oll you need to do is instead of entering in MCC+MNC value, you enter in GID1 value of the network the handset is locked to. I have tested this using orange UK as an example.
Orange UK GID1 = 0000

Codes posted in dct3 log section show:
Model: Nokia DCT3
IMEI: 449201208122039
Network: 23433
#pw+7623362475+1#
#pw+3660576453+2#

By entering in 5 zeros, 00000 and the above imei into MONO's online calc we get code 2!

So all we need is a decent list of GID1's. with a bit of searching i found
http://gsmsearch.com/faq/FAQ_unlock_n0kia.html
WHch contains the following very useful info:

NETWORK - ---------------------MCC+MNC -------GID1

Spain Movistar Contract -----------214-07--------01FF
Spain Movistar Prepaid ------------214-07 --------10FF
Spain Airtel Contract/Prepaid-------214-01--------FFFF
England Orange Dual Band ---------234-33--------0000
England Cellnet unknown-----------234-10--------10FF
Netherlands DutchTone unknown---204-20--------504F
France SFR contract-------------- 208-10--------90FF
France SFR direct live paid---------208-10--------10FF
France Itineris normal contract-----208-01--------0000
France Itineris ola contract--------208-01--------FFFF
Belgium Mobistar unknown---------206-10--------FFFF
Austria Movilkom unknown---------232-01--------4D4B
Canada Fido Contract-------------302-37--------DDFF

So i take another look in the dct3 log request section and find:
Model: Nokia DCT3
IMEI: 352513009618212
Network: 21401 (Spain Airtel Contract/Prepaid )
#pw+9120585416+1#
#pw+6624282506+2#

If the GID1's i have found are correct then code 2 in the above example must have been calculated using GID1=FFFF
BUT i cant get the online dct3 calc to reproduce this code 2.

Does the real griffin clip let you enter 4 digit HEX instead of a 5 digit MCC+MNC when calculating codes???

Other correct examples to help us find the answers:
fido canada imei 111111111111111
#pw+5628086470+1#
#pw+1007824356+2# (this code must be calculated using DDFF)

o2/bt cellnet uk 111111111111111
#pw+8302664282+1#
#pw+7664432827+2# (this code must be calculated using 10FF)

If i had a real griffin clip i am sure this would be an easy puzzle to solve :-))

Thankyou for your patience in reading this and please post your ideas.

Dan, hi,
You're theory works ! Well, for uk orange at least. I locked 1 + 2 of my 3310 using noktool, then i used dct3calc to generate lock 2 code, using orange gid1 00000 (which is the decimal of hex 0000 obviously), and the code worked ! Then just recalc'ed lock 1 by using 23433. Be interesting to know if anyone from a different network with a gid1 locked phone gets success from this method ?

have just tried a few more, and it doesn't seem to be work, for example austria 232-01, changing 4d4b into decimal is 19787, this entered into the dct3 calc came out wrong, compared to an online calc i tried which gives lock 2. And if you look at o2 uk, 10FF in decimal is 4351, which isn't enough digits even. I tried it prefixed and suffixed with a zero, still came out wrong. I think the five zeros must just coincidentally worked because it was a value of nil ? There must be another algo or something ???

all the code 2 calculation thing is new, and people still don't know much about it. also, the algorythms are stored in clips that are hard to crack.

anyway, it is now possible to calc an unlock code for lock 2 - use trycktill.com calculator.

and another thing, do you really think that people who know the answer won't help you?

tested using trykill online calc:

GID1's
England Vodafone E1FF
England Orange 0000
England O2 10FF
Virgin

the above values will calculate correct lock 2 codes. Virgin i do not know and if someone does then please let me know.

so, does anyone know why entering 00000 into a lock 1 calc happens to give the correct lock 2 for orange uk ??

sk3done
09-02-2004, 01:27 PM
no its got to be the online version not the client software as they have not added the option for 4 digit codes to it yet but the online version allows u to enter them if u have trouble mate PM me the imei and i will genrate the second lock for u

@ sk3done,
I understand yes, i use online calc sometimes, but sometimes i like to use the new MADos dct3 calc, and i am wondering why using 00000 (decimal equivalent of 0000 hex) works for orange uk (or any other gid1 which is 0000), but not for any others. I assume it is not a case of converting the gid1 hex into decimal ?

the algorythm must be at least a little different for calculating lock1 and lock2 codes, but since 0000 is a null value, it might be the same code for lock1 and 2.

Hi!

To obtain the GID1 unlock code just use the GID1 code in HEXA (NOT converted to decimal) instead of MCC+MNC. The fifth 0 is a padding 0 and you can add it to any other GID1 to obtain a 5 figure HEXA number.

Try it with this proggy http://www.geocities.com/ldril/lockcode.zip for lock 1 and 2 and come back with comments.

It's their fault ;)

Ok. Wot im trying to say is, u can enter 00000 into a lock 1 calculator - of the type which will only let u type numerals, and it will give u the correct lock 2 code (orange uk). So it would follow that there must be a way to do it for the other networks surely ?

Yes, it works for 00000 because incidentally 0000(hexa)=00000(decimal). It should also work for a GID1 of 0001-0009 if you enter it as 00010 - 00090, but that's it because the numbers that are entered there are treated like BCD, so they are always hexa, no matter what.

spark001uk

So there's absolutely no way the other gid1's can be formulated somehow into a decimal calc ?

Get GID1 by yourself with a nokia cable and nokiatools and post at DCT3 unlock forums.

Here is the list we have collected:

I hope we can build a more complete list with your help.
