Just tried to connect to the internet with my genie contract sim (which hasn't got gprs on) and it connected with the free wap settings! My jaw is still on the floor.

I just put my genie wap settings in the phone and when opera asked me to connect I selected the wap settting. I know that this isn't the settings you asked for but I just got up and the phone is elsewhere. I'll post them later on. I assumed you could only look at web pages via gprs but I was wrong, thank god.

I'm on a Genie (O2) contract and have free wap which Opera will also use to connect with the browser. Great.

Data bearer = High speed (GSM)
Dial up number 915000
User name = geniewap
Prompt password = no
Password = password
Authentication = Normal
Homepage = http://wap.genie.co.uk
Data call type = Analogue
Maximun data speed = 9600

No advanced settings used..

forgot the dialup number. added it now. As I said, I'm on Genie (O2) and I know it works.

Basically, if you're in the UK and have a Genie contract don't let them fob you off with some gprs crap contract. This works.
