View Full Version : Locking phones using Noktool. Not able to unlock using mastercodes?

I have been testing a little locking my phone using rolis nokia tool.

I lock my phone to the MCCMNC code, and it works. The phone rejects the sim at bootup. But then it's the unlock part. I was locking the phone to test the DCT-3 mastercodes, but it doesn't work.

I use correct imei, correct operator code, and the mastercode is correct. But i get "Code error" anyway.

Is there some "mastercode" function needed to be activated when locking the phone? Seems like that, because it ain't possible to unlock a phone using mastercode when you have locked the phone yourself!

Could someone else try? Lock the DCT3 phone using Nokia tool or a similar tool, try to generate the mastercode and unlock it?

To generate DCT-3 codes, use UniqueSW's brand new DCT-3 generator:

Hi!

I've locked my phone with noktool and then unlocked it successfully with code. I've done this two or three times in a row. Is it possible that you get 'code error' because you entered too many bad codes?

Hi!

I've locked my phone with noktool and then unlocked it successfully with code. I've done this two or three times in a row.

me too..

try unlocking it with rolis, to reset the locks data completely, and then lock it to a mcc+mnc and unlock with codes. that's what i did..

That was what i did also.

Then i guess i have tried too many times. Thats a difference between dct4 and dct3. dct4 willl give an other message if it the codes have been entered too many times.

But is it possible to reset that "wrong code" counter? I guess it be reset if i flash a virgin eeprom?

the wrong codes counters are found in rolis, near the open/close lock button.

but resetting the sp locks data shall reset the counters too..

maybe you got wrong codes from the calculator?

This is weird!

The counter resets when i clear SP locks. So its 0. The code is correct, unless both uniquesw and trycktill.com generates wrong codes.

I think theres something wrong with the phone, because it won't unlock using "clear SP locks" button either (neither rolis or jordik's tool). It says it's successfull, but the lock is still on. I have to use "Open all" to get it unlocked.

i tried a slightly different experiment before the dct3 calcs were online.

I changed the imei of a 3310 to that posted in certain unlock code request sections. I then locked the handset to the relavent network network.

when someone responded with an unlock code i tried that in my cloned 3310.

it did not work! I think if you change the imei unlock codes do not work

@dluik
I have tried the same experiment. Changed the IMEI and locked with NokTool as specified in the codes requests and then unlocked with code. For me it worked.

so it we can safely said that using noktools to lock, DCT3 33XX series phone. and use the dct3calc generator to unlock via imei WORKS. ;-)

Yep, i tested on a 3310 now, and that worked fine :)

So the 33XX seems to be the only ones working...

The 8850 had original imei by the way.

how about originally locked non-33XX phones, the codes work for these?

i have another test - the locks have two types, user and factory. maybe the codes unlock only factory locks?

Hi,

Just some off topic info concerning trying to set a lock.

Won't work when Ur flash seems to be partially unlocked before. ;)

Sad I just found out after 2 days trying to...

Ps, anyone by incident have a partial for or a good 8210-521 mcu?

Well, it looks that i'm not alone in this matter :)

I have two 3310 and one 8210 that won't accept the keypad unlock, no matter what i do to them.
This is what i've done to one 3310 and results always the same..."code error" :
- first try with modded flash (my making) (rolis 4.79)
- then with MADos (compiled by crux) (rolis 4.79)
- then with original flash version 6.07 ppm C (rolis 4.79)
- downgraded to version 5.57 ppm C (rolis 4.79)
- erased all flash; virgin eeprom; modded flash again (this time with Knok) and IMEI repair
- last try (just a few mins ago) downgraded to original sw version 4.24 with no luck

(Progs used to close locks: NokTool by Rolis v1.9, DCT3 repair partner v3.2)

I've tried same procedures (lock with NokTool) one 6210 and another 8210 and both accepted codes

very puzzling :-?

also tried unlock codes in a 6210 and in a 3310 (both locked from Nokia) and none gave any problem.

anyone has a theory that would like to share with the rest?

cheers

well, in my experiment not work just like Gezzuz said. I locked my 3310 with Rolistool in a network, after I try to unlock with DCT-3 codes.

Allways "Code error".

Some one figured what´s wrong?

Thx

Don't forget, you need to be certain which network your DCT3 is/was locked to. I guess you can try all the home networks, but 100% certainty is what any calc is based on to be successful.

the problem is that you don't lock the phone the proper way.

read it with noktool034 and it has to be the same as a new locked phone (check the values of the locks, the types (u or f) and the status (open or close)). i've successfully opened my 3410 closed to two different networks by me.

the problem is that same procedure is different phones generates different results.

That's why i think you must try it on more than one phone and post results

I unlocked successfully some 8210 and others couldn't, same with 3310 :-?
