Standalone is a lot better for more advanced users like you or me but for any newbie out there :sad: they may not like it!!

I like the idea of both, use neither of them and much prefer cables!! ;)

well.... dos programs are old now, that's right, but with a dos program there is the ability to type one line and get the codes directly (without changing fields, without even getting your hands off the keys). also, it is easier to make scripts for use with online calcs, and you can automatically save all the output in a file.

with gui programs you need to change fields, and sometimes select from lists etc, and also not all of them have logging option.

As for a dos dct3 calc... We see no need, give us a good reason and we will make it. (To steal credit is a rather.... poor reason).

The reason for a DOS calc would be that other hobbiest could create their own shells. This competion is good and motivates people to creat better GUI etc..

At the moment there really can only be uniques dct3 calc unless cyber&hollowman and mr wolfman can effectively use nok5rev small prog within their own soft. (or algos are released for free)

I just want to see more dct3/4 calc software!! Nut if I was the author of this software I may be thinking differently :-)

it might be a little off-topic, but i've checked it now with my 3330:

generating a code for lock 2 works also for lock 3.

don't know if there are networks that use this lock - but it is possible to unlock with codes.

about the 4th lock - didn't work..

Yes, for lock 1,2 and 3 just input data. Lock 4 is a bit tricky, but it's possible. I'm told, that most providers that uses lock 4 have different data in lock 4 for each phone. This means, that there's no really good reason to try to offer remote unlock for lock 4 for phones locked to these providers (phew).

I calc codes for lock 4 in Denmark. One of our providers (debitel) uses this lock, and have only a few different values in the lock - that's why this is possible (I give every customer a few codes - where only one of them works).

you can get cyber&hollowmans latest version 3.5 from my site. I think in time it will be incorporated and well hidden. But cyber will never be able to get his file size down without sources to original algos!

SmartDCT4calc has now also added dct3 support using nok5rev software. The shell guys have not given up yet :)

The locking code works (I have tested only for lock 1), but the conditions are very restrictive. First of all the lock has to be User and not Factory and then you are allowed to lock only to the MCCMNC stored in the phone. The five digits are exactly the MCCMNC and the last one is 1,2,3,4 to lock the corresponding locks, 5 to lock 1 and 2, 6 to lock 1, 2 and 3.

I have tested like this: using a cable I locked phone's lock 1 to 22601, User type. Then I unlocked with code and then I locked successfully with *pw+22601+1#

same here.... i locked my 3330 to mcc+mnc with use mode in rolis. then i unlocked it with codes - successfully.

i read the phone info again in rolis - the lock info was 42501, open, user.
tried the lock code *pw+42501+1# - "not allowed".

but if such code exists, it must work in some way...

any ideas?

I can't tell for sure that I've found all conditions. One thing that comes to my mind - is the SIM card in the phone on the same network as the one you locked on? I think this is checked as well.

Doing so would be breaking the rules and you are then risking banning

Unique, just a suggestion for the next version, when you select a dct-4 handset, you have three options, type 5 type 7 and type 2

can you add which models are which type? maybe put a button in, with a pope up window that tells you what is what.

it would also be useful if you had the country's then networks listed in thier dropdown boxes.

just my thoughts.

you dont Need V1 codes
Use always V2 codes (is for all mobiles Old & New )
and you will not go wrong
only nokia 1100 and 3200 is V3(GTCL-001)
