What do you have to enter when it says ADM: if you want to change your network order or preferences?

What do you have to enter when it says ADM: if you want to change your network order or preferences?

try your phone number with 10 digits (for ADM)
ex: 5145551234
if it's don't work.. try 00000 or 000000

post your result please ...

No luck changing the TDMA side. Any idea on the ADM code? I would like to be able to set the GSM-TDMA preference if I can.

Is there anything special one must do to use this code on an unlocked 6340i? I assumed it would be like the *3001#12345# in that once entered, you wouldn't have to do anything special. Mine does nothing at after entering what amounts to *GAIT*SIM# :(

Did you have any luck changing anything on the TDMA side? I would like to change the PPI to TDMA-GSM and also be able to lock GSM only or TDMA only to check signal strength in certain areas.

Thanks!

Please I tried 00000 000000 and my ten digit #. all of these were "invalid code"s . I can't get my phone to go TDMA no matter what. This is after all why I bought a GAIT phone.

I don't think you can change the PPI. I believe it is an OTA programming only. Are you not getting any signal or are you just trying to get your phone to go into TDMA? I have a couple of ways to force TDMA. One is temporary which is by going to the BTS Test Off screen by hitting the left soft key (Menu) and toggling to Field Test screen by using the up arrow, hit Select, hit ok and then enter 555 and hit ok again. Another is to change the SID when you enter the TDMA programming mode by entering the code at the top of this thread. If you enter a SID of a TDMA carrier that has a signal near you, and you can connect to it (roaming agreement) then it will lock onto that TDMA signal.

There are large areas near my home (Morristown, NJ) where I get no signal, but I know from other phones, that there is AT&T TDMA and AMPS and Verizon AMPS, but my 6340i says no service. Cingular customer service says that although they have a roaming agreement with AT&T, the phones are programmed not to go to AT&T TDMA in Northern NJ as Cingular feels this area is covered by GSM. It is not and I want the deal I signed up for TDMA roaming where there is no GSM signal. It should just happen, I'll try your suggestions when I get home tonight.
Thanks.

Tried setting BTS test to 555 and the phone doesn't connect to anything. I know AT&T TDMA has a strong signal here. The guy in the next office uses it 5 bars. What would the SID for AT&T TDMA in NYC be?
Thanks again.

Oh........I didn't know you were in NYC. I don't think you be able to raom on AWS until Cingular allows it. For me, even the roaming provider I use is on my Forbidden SID list, I can still connect to them because of a roaming agreement from back in the day sometime. You can try entering 25 (AWS SID in NYC) into the System ID, but from what I have read, the network blocks you from connecting.

I have even plugged in Alltel's SID and roamed on their AMPS channel. I was able to place a call on Alltel. I entered Verizon's SID and connected, but was not able to make a call.

 I tried to do that and the phone asked for PIN2. I tried 0000. It then announced SIM card locked and rebooted the phone. Everything still seems to work, but no TDMA.

Your PIN & PIN2 in your personal security codes. If you don't know them and enter the wrong one in too many times it will ask you for a PUK or PUK2 code. These can only be given to you by your provider. I got mine from a tech at a local store. We reset my PIN & PIN2 codes to something I can easily remember and he gave me my PUK & PUK2 codes to write down. I change my SID all the time depending on where I am at and enter my PIN2 after it each time.

Well...I got the PIN, PIN2, PUK and PUK2 codes. Tried setting system id to 25 and when I tried to make a call AT&T asked me if I wanted to set up roaming service. Oh well, I just tried the Northern NJ Cingular TDMA SID 118. The phone comes up saying VoiceStream?!? It works just fine, but what's up? I'll see tonight, if this fills in the holes in coverage on the way home.

Use the left column of numbers, 118 is for Nashville. What city in northern NJ?

The left column is a 5 digit number and the phone only accepts 4 digits. I saw 118 as NYC Metro and NJ Metro. My phone intially had 4200 as the SID, which isn't even on the Mountain Wireless list. Any other thoughts?!
Thanks again.

Actually, mine is 4200 also. Might be a GAIT thing. Search for "NJ" on the page and try some other SIDs, or you can even search for other carriers SIDs in the area and try entering those. You might be SOL until AWS roaming is allowed.

Go into test mode and go to screen 21-02 and watch the different SIDs come up as your phone scans for carriers. I get 2 at my house. 1349 is default Cellular One (Dobson) and 1350 is Thumb Cellular. I use 1350 as my SID because it is the closer tower. My phone would never lock onto that tower if I didn't change the SID to 1350. It would scan the control channels of the tower (b730 for TC & a1008 for Cell1) though as I can see on 21-01.

Oh well, it comes up with 25 (locked out AT&T) 22 (Verizon, "we are unable to authenticate your phone") and 110 (which leaves it in GSM). Looks like I am SOL. I wish Cingular would have been upfront about the lack of TDMA roaming in the NY metro area. And even after switching the SID back to 4200, the phone still displays "VoiceStream", HUH?!?
