Hi,

No such thing as yet mate. It is talked about but I have heard nothing.

It may be worth you keeping an eye on this site :

http://themes.symbian-world.com/

as there is going to be a Themerizer to take a theme and create a skin for use on the n-gage/3650/7650 phones, but it isn't running yet.

The other thing you can use, similar to themes is Smart Launcher look here :

the themerizer does a lot more than just change icons. it can also import 6600 themes, but you can also create your own.

i'm the creator of the themerizer so i think i should know what it can do ;)

the themes aren't as detailed as the 6600 but nevertheless they provide more customisation then you can currently get on the phone. You can create your own theme or import an existing 6600 theme.

WoW! thanks j2k, that is really reassuring. That is one of the main reasons that i wanted to upgrade my 3650 to a 6620, but now if there is a possibility of a theme for 3650 thats awsome. Now maybe i can wait for the next sweet symbian phone!!!

Lol! Hands up who can't read ;)

Glad to see you on here J2K letting people know what your creation is going to do.

I remember about a year ago now you yourself were working on a skinning program for the 7650's, about the same time as testing for 'Icon Changer' was taking place. Is there something in the pipeline for the 6600's maybe?

Indeed, Ian, the Themerizer is the official name for 'Project TBA'. :)

Skinning for the 6600? No plans yet as the built-in firmware provides the theme support, however I can't rule out anything in the future if I think of something! :)

Since i have a 6600, all i want is icon changer! :D

I cant wait to remove the ugly white stuff around the icons, or to enlarge the icons that are too small, or to just make them look cooler :D

Hi Iceman5,

Icon changer did just that, changed the icons for better looking ones. This small application only worked on the nokia 76/3650's and was out before Smart Launcher was. Everyone wanted to change the look and feel of thier phones and this was it. J2K created it and could probably tell you a lot more of it, I think he'll agree it was a little buggy at times but useable.
No more work was done on it I think?

Your best idea to get the right theme is to grab hold of Nokia's Theme Studio, downloadable direct from Nokia's own forum and make your own theme. This assumes you have a PC running XP or Win2000 to run it.
Then you can change the icons, their mask's, making them bigger or smaller and a load of other things besides.
When you get clever with it you can use pieces you like from other peoples themes and incorporate them into your own, especially the icons.

Nice. Very nice idea mates!

I'll just hold on to my seat, until it comes out ... and boom, my fingers pop out and probably start downloading?

Indeed. The application was buggy (not to mention large - 10kb per icon, although this was reduced to 0.5 kb per icon in the final beta which was never released). Smart Launcher's release really was the final straw for me, which led me to abandon the project.

Months later, I decided to resume the project, and work was great on it. Work continued right up until last week, where I took the decision to integrate Icon Changer into the Themerizer itself, so it was just one application allowing you to customise aspects of S60. You can choose what to customise (only the icons if you want, just like Icon Changer would have done).

The Icon Changer project, as Ian said, was designed for 7650s and 3650s. However, it also supported the N-Gage.

I agree with you there Ian - Icon Changer, when released, was only going to support the Nokia 7650, 3650 and N-Gage anyway.

Cheers

I doubt it. I'll still investigate it though.

Remember, I am limited by the restrictions imposed with the earlier Series 60 1.x series so certain areas of the phone UI are simply out of bounds.
