6600 OS upgrades

Anyone know if the slow snail like OS of the 6600 is going to be re-vamped if so can you upgrade older phones and how do I find out which OS version I have in my phone anyway?

well, the os is 7.0, and i tink u meant firmware version.

press *#0000# to find out the firmware version, so far, aint heard of any fix in the speed, except change some settings in the log so it wun b so laggy.
