Just unlocked my 6310i . Now phone when is switched on with 3 (3G) simcard inserted it goes straight into "Updating SIM card" when it reads sim card data , only momentarily displays "O"2. I can scrole into phone book and use the phone perfectly as long as i dont exit back to the main screen as this locks it back into "Updating SIm card" screen. I have left it in this screen for approx 45 mins and no change.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

first of all, your in the wrong forum, so the moderstors wont be pleased, and secondly the 6310i is not a CDMA handset, for 3G to work you need to have a CDMA handset :D

there is also a 3g network for gsm (umts).

about the "updating sim card" message - try the sim in another phone, but anyway - ask your provider.

Hutchinson 3g in the UK have managed to fix there sim card so that they will not work in normal phone's.

They do in some, mostly older models nokia 3110's and 5110's for example. But not in new phones. all that happens is the updateing sim message forever and ever and so on.

No way round it.

This is true, but in the UK 3 has very poor coverage, there for when you are out of 3 coverage it will roam on 02 network, which still allows you to make voice calls.
