If someone does have a top up generator, they would need to be very careful about who they give it to. Publically releasing it would mean the operators would be pretty pissed off at everyone topping up for free. Still, if you've deveolped one, or got hold of one, I can see it being pretty handy.

There is no formula for a top up code...

They are random.... RANDOM !... I remember three years ago when I think it was t-mobile who had a formula... they then changed to random codes.. there was a topup generator then just for tmobile. (then 121)

Yeah, but, if the codes were random, what prevents you from typing in anything and it being activated? I spose codes could be withdrawn after they have been used once. I had an idea that they codes could be activated once the card has been purchased, but this can't be the case, as people just ring them though the till normally. Still, vouchers are being withdrawn to make people use E topup. Praps this is the reason why...

The voucher number are between 10 - 15 digits depending on the network, so the chances of guessing one are slim very slim and if you enter your voucher number wrong 3 times you get put through to customer services.

I would also imagine that they log all failed attempts to enter the number so if you try hundreds of number they will probably cut you off.

As for activation that is done when they are sent from the networks to the distributers.

So there are only 3 ways to get free top ups:-

1. Get somebody else to buy it for you!

2. find somebody who works for a network who has access to activated topup numbers. (these sorts of people will be few and far between, and also probably paid a lot of money to keep there little secrets safe)

3. as mentioned previously rob a corner shop (NOT ADVISED and even if you did they must be better things to steal from a corner shop other than a £10 T-Mobile voucher)

Best regards

This was one of the reasons most networks have introduced swipe cards for top ups. Not only is it easier, but also 3 years ago there was a lot of talk about a generator being used. Most networks will start to phase out top up vouchers as a matter of course. All transactions will be handled electronically.I do have my suspicions with regard to a working generator, as this would lead to any topups being declined from the operators. They do exist, but be advised most of them may have a trojan embedded in them.
I certainly have never seen any that work, I have seen a similar thing which just produced random numbers, but you may as well use a lottery number generator, as it will give you the same results!

The only well known scam is on O2, where you can get 300 texts/wap mins free each month just by resetting your phone date back to when you originally topped up.But again, you need the initial £10 top up to start.

These softwares are gimmick and as such should be treated as nothing more.
Enclosed is a snippet from the "About" file:

"We all know that there is no such thing as a Top-Up
Generator that can generate a valid number
everytime or even at all! This generator is no different
and if you manage to find a number it is due to pure
luck!
This generator tries to be more accurate by
calculating a certain set of numbers for each
network.
This generator is to be used at your own risk! It is not
advised that you try any of these numbers, especially
if you have a SIM Card registered to you!"

I think the author of this software has said it all there!

PS. Did not work for me either on several unregistered sims I have.

besides, if one ever miraculasly got invented word would be out in a couple of days. Then all the companies would get major pissed and every site that gave away the programs would be shut down and fined....
still it would be a pretty feckin sweet couple of days :P

My service provider would think something a bit suspicious was going on when me credit balance was $9.9x10^78. Is there even a limit on how much credit you can have at one time?
