Hi all,
is possible to make an app that can open any file in hex mode and ascii divided by a line like HexWorkshop for windows or that can displays the file by ascii??
The only viewer we have (notepad) displays wrong the files, open only those < 4KByte and in some types when you open from efilemanager it doesn't start and delete the file!!! Incredible, i try to rename it with differents names and extension but it deletes it! Probably some asii codes will make this.

An hex editor is indispensable for debug.
Also a track register that spy the changes in the phone registry or the updates maked in files during an execute a program or install a .sis .. useful to crackers or to recovery

Bye!

u really need what?? yes, its possible... now will u make us one??

it sounds like ur really desperate! the thread was posted along time ago and u still bump it... why dont u just send the file to ur comp and use a hex editor in windows. i would, instead of waiting for weeks for some1 to answer. its kinda useless since u dont need hex on ur phone THAT much.... send to ur comp, then send it back

hehe.. I know that having a PC always with u take u off the problems, but when u haven't?
I use my phone like a PC, playing with the files, exange the contens between apps, study how symbian works, try to solve problems by myself. But without a valid viewer we cannot to that! There are full of symbian shit applications.. some exacly copied from others, some totaly useless. So why don't develope this valid program? Why waste so much time to do an application that already exist?
The only way we have to view a file is with notepad.. and u know that in windows the notepad is redicolous. Here it's the same.
We cannot simply open a text file large than 4k.. and we must open it all in ram to view it.. so slow. If we can in some ways view it by pieces of 1k for ex. it will improve the speed. And if we have a HEX display we can see the chars that cannot be displayed. It is so usefull to know how the programs works and how they modify them files, all of us can improve the symbian learning and we can improve the developers comunity.. simply by a passion that starting.

I talk for me that I take lot pratics in windows by this tools.. and with some years of experience ;)
I hope that someone share my point of view :)
