ok, thanks, I think I got it.

but what I was really trying to understant is if the hardware used to program the pic on the card is a simple i2c bus (SDA, SCK) along with a vpp (13v normally)...

if this is true, then its possible to use a JDM programmer to do what this interface does right?!!

but it doesn't....
it seems that vpp drops to ~8.5 v when it should be near 13..
I've connected an external source but still what I get is a bunch of 3fff on IcProg, has it got something to do with code protection of the chip?!!

i don't understand what you talking about.but the JDM can use to program pic16f84,pic16f628,pic16f877,goldcard,silvercard but you need to know how to connect.

in a goldcard, the conections are like this...

so, if you connect a JDM to these pins like if it was DIL package, should work right?!!
