View Full Version : N-GAGE vibration in games...

I just can't understand why NOKIA specifically states that N_GAGE can not have vibration used in games... I mean, any 3310 can do that... Is this some kind of Symbian OS limitation, or is it possible that new games to come will have this feature?
(My hands are still rumbling right now while typing from endlessly playing Need for Speed Underground! ;)
Give me your opinions, plz!

It's not a limitation in the Symbian OS, Nokia just decided that they didn't want a vibration function.

The BL-5C battery don't last long with extensive gaming, mp3 playing or Bluetooth action. Maybe vibration makes the battery even shorter!
Maybe.

True! It would be like Force Feedback on a Joystick in a PC Game.
Or Xbox or something ...
WOW :-o

Im afraid that we will never get to play games who support vibration, the OS 6 & 7 don't support vibra....
This has been no1 game complain ever since the 7650 was released.
Even the ancient 3310 had vibra, just one of those stupid nokia ideas to leave it out.
Nokia is trowing in their own windows, soon they will be trashing whole glassfactories if they don't come with a GOOD AND WORTHY phone, not just an improvement of the other, like the already old 7610

If the phone can be vibrating when someone is calling you, it should be possible to create a program that enables that function without getting a call. Maybe Nokia has blocked that function so it couldn't be abused. For example: "You install this game that supports vibration in it but the creator had bad intentions while making it. Now every time your phone is on, it's shaking."
Any sence in that?

maybe vibration in games will take up too much batt juice? so they chose not to haf vibration in games?

The vibration is just a small motor, so it won't take up too much energy.

There was an application like that on s40 phones, I think it was called 'Purring Kitty' or something like that. Could be a different app though.

Only works on Series 40 phones because the program can control the phone's vibration feature. Series 60 doesn't allow that. So the program doesn't have the "rights" to enable/disable the feature during the program is running ...
Know what I mean?

Symbian fones are usually too big for "that" purpose anyway

Yeah, it's pretty stupid that Nokia didn't implant the vibration function.
