View Full Version : A ringtone ID and shortname editing program would be nice to have...

It is an idea to all gsm programmers out there...

a program that automaticly corrects the ringtone ID's, so none have the same ID...


I have a lot of tones that don't have correct name, and i there is always a few tones that share the ID... :(

no I have same problem... Nokdoc gave some hints on how to repair in an old topic... but I didn't ttry it. I'm not too happy in hex editing ;)

i'n not happy with hex editing either.

As far as I understand, the ID is the first part of the .re file.

so it can't be that hard to make a program that makes it possible to edit the ID's easier?

I wish I knew how to program... :(

maybe a program that can load rtttl aand re for alerts and ringtone... that will auto correct the ID on ringtone. would do.. like ppmedit.

it is easy if you explode with ppmmanager and edit only tones.
toneid is one byte, then 3 bytes and short name.
changing all in same time makes it easier than open one .re and then change one byte, save, open another tone, change...
after all toneid's are changed, it can be load to ppmmanager and save all to .re files.

use RTTL to RE Converter 1.0B to correct those IDs :D

ppmedit automatically set the IDs (even in the cracked ver.)! Just open flash file, click ringtone, click OK, click save..!

How stupid am I? lol...

I was going to suggest this function to you...

But what about ringtones shortnames? will you add support for editing the names in later versions of PPMedit?

actually all you have to do is set the First ID. i usually set it at "1" :p

then hit Correct RE IDs, select the tones you want fixed and it will change all the IDs. :D

it took me a bit before i realized i could select more than one tone at a time, too. ;)
