Of course not! What notion was in your head? GPRS is dependent on:

1. Your Service Provider and
2. Your SIM Card

Is your SIM Card the same as someone else's SIM? No!

GPRS cannot be "stolen". What made you think this could happen?

Wait a minute... If you already know how to do it, and you have already dun it.... what was the point of your original post? -- did you figure out how to do it afterwards???

Because i know here (in US and Can), you cannot take GPRS from a different service provider... it depends on your SIM card.. if your SIM is primed to one provider, you cannot use that sim card to access GPRS for a different provider.... just doesn't work.

Its just like making a phone call pretty much. I've tried doing what you say; and it doesn't work. Well, that's just here in Australia.

I understand why I got "owned". But hey. I'm a honest guy in Australia, and we're living in a lawful society (most likely you are as well) not a Middle Eastern country like Serbia.

I'm only telling you information and/or opinions from my point of view, based on experiences here in AUSTRALIA!

Repeat after me:
Aussie Aussie Aussie! Oi! Oi! Oi!

Nk_au got 0wned? For thinking logically? I agree with him. It can't be done here in Australia, I've tried.

is it posible to steal gprs from another provider and if is tell me how ;)

Not possible. Why? Because of GPRS APN (Access Point Name) provisioning. The APN provisioning is done by your current provider inside their network, specifically in their HLR (Home Locator Register). That means, your number is provisioned with the GPRS APN in your provider's own HLR to enable you to use the GPRS service of your provider. Your current provider will not allow provisioning of phone numbers from other providers to their own HLR, likewise, other providers will also not allow your number to be provisioned with GPRS APN in their HLR unless you transfer to them.

Claro?

In Serbia we have two network provider "Mobtel" and "MTS".mobtel network code is 220 01 and mts is 220 03.MTS provider have only mms free for users but not gprs (only post paid users have all,and i am prepaid)that mean i can`t use wap via gprs only mms.in the 6610 is MTS sim card,in that phone i put the settings of Mobtel for gprs and mms and it works but only when i use with my pc???when i try to open wap services i get message "subscribe to gprs first"but when i use 6610 like modem to browse internet it works just fine (i am on it now).I forgot to tell that Mobtel have free gprs and mms for all kind of users(prepaid and postpaid)about a 10 month.and i still don´t know how that happend :-?
FOR MOBTEL:
APN:internet
gateway ip adress:217.65.192.33
homepage:http//wap.mobtel.co.yu
connection security :off

FOR MTS:
APN:gprswap
gateway ip adress:172.17.85.131
homepage:http//wap.mts064.telekom.yu
connection security:off

Is this a battle between Logic and Geography?

noreturn
04-04-2004, 01:08 PM
not really.. i just think that if you're gonna be disrespectful about someone else's nation, then you might as well be knowedgeable about it first. completely confusing the location of a country just shows that you probably don't even know the slightest bit about its political state.

that aside, being nationalistic is stupid. (there's a difference between patriotic and nationalistic, btw) how old are you anyways? 12?

sorry my mistake.
i was reading the thread more carregfully after posting
maybe u're the smart one from the herd after all and stood in school in geography clases. :)

for the reccord
both Serbia and Croatia are not middle east countries...nor russian language is spoken there :))))
who wants to recover what they've missed in geography classes may use google and find out more.

some of you...might need to read our forum rules again.
no political talk here...no nationalist behaviour allowed. u can do it with your palls in front of a beer.
no non-english words unless translated and i am talking about correct translation and no insults and bad words.
at the end this is a gsm forum and we are all talking about phones...is the only thing that keeps us here.

thread closed.
