Hi All,
I have just got my grubby little mitts on a Nokia 7250 for spare / repair, but I'm not 100% sure whats wrong :-?
When I got the phone (about 3am on 23/03/04) the phone was working (and still is), but the screen isn't  .The back light comes on and there is no physical damage or dead pixels in the LCD screen :) .I checked the contact between the mainboard and the screen and there was some white kind of power residue which i cleaned off very carefully 8-)
Still the screen wont work, but the back light will. Can anyone help me :-? .I am concidering getting a new screen and seeing if that will make a difference.

Also does anyone know where to get firmware updates for the phone and if they are usable through a IR conection. Thanks

it would appear that this is a water damaged phone, you can either sort this out with an ultrasonic bath or you can use a more thorough method by following this link

i hope this helps

Hi Insann,
Over the course of last night I managed to bring the screen back to life. I found that the ribbon has a faluty 'wire' (copper contacts) within in the ribbon. So now my screen is relayant on a small piece of paper pushing it back together.
As for water danaged there certainly are no signs of this as there are no 'burn' marks and the screen has no 'ink' (water) marks.
Thank you for your time and help.
