After doing some research it will cost me £210 for a 6600, my main motivation for getting a pda style phone was the internet.. but looking at o2 prices i wont be able to afford use it (1mb = £4 or something silly like that) So is it worth getting it just for the software?

im a student to. if you want to use messenger get agilemessenger. it only uses wap and even tells you how much data you've sent/recieved (which is a very little ammount on that) and its free to use. for proper websites, i use netfront, you can choose what access point you want to use (i always use wap for this cos it seems to load things faster) and you can take off all the pictures etc off sites so they load quicker, then just disconnect while you read the page so it dont cost anythin, other than that you might wanna check out www.o2.co.uk/nus (fones alot cheaper than on teh normal site and in the shops, and the contract deals beat every network)

Don't worry, when you've discovered the capabillities of the software and all other non-gprs/wap functions, you'll have forgotten that your mobile can actually access the internet ;)

When you would like to use msn, don't install any programs, just visit
GPRS:
start.e-messenger.net/mobile
WAP:
start.e-messenger.net/wap
and you can start right away! :D

Im on PAYG O2 online, and i get 300mins of free wap a month. I don't get through all of that, and i play about on wap a fair bit. They say you can alternativly have 300 page of GPRS, but i'd don't wanna risk going over the limit and getting screwed by the GRPS prices. Saying that, i used a meg last month, and it didn't cost me a penny, so who knows?

they used to be called genie sim cards, you top up with £10 every month and you'd get 300 free text messages a month (600 txts with the original ones) and 300 free wap mins. i got loads of them, o2 keep sending them to me for free, got about 10 at the min

lol yeah, thats a good point. not like im complaining or anything cos their always handy to have incase you find a buyer for one, but i wish they'd at least send them like once or twice a year max. think everyone i know has one now cos ive sold them to them
