Hi. How long do the nokia service centre's take to upgrade the Nokia 6600 to Firmware 4.09.1, can they do it while you wait?

They upgrade your phone for free - if you still got warrenty.

But think twice before you update, lots of the programs won't work with the new FW

The main probelm i have is when someone sends me a multimedia message, when i try and view the presentation, the picture the person sent is in a same area but zoomed right in, so i cant see it...i have to view obejects to see it, and sound clips dont play properly in the presentation....i heard the Firmware 4.09.1 would improve the presentations...so even for that reason, i would probably go for it....
The only programs i have are X-Messenger, an MP3 Player, AOL Messenger and a couple of games....

You dont happen to know which ones of these may not work?

Upgraded yesterday, been able to restore data without any problems. It took me 45mins to get it flashed. No incompatibility yet, including ngage games ;)

I just got this firmware update, and there are a few problems. When i turn on the phone, the nokia hands joining is sticky and the sound breaks up. Anyone know if this can be sorted?

The phone is much quicker though. Going through menus is much better than before.

And one TINY little thing, when you have the box to type in your pin at startup, it seems a bit of the wrong shape. its a bit long vertically i think.

just to let you all know...there are still a few minor probs with the latest version for the 6600...(4.09.1)

few probs i have noticed:
1) cannot use "goto" option unless you are already in a wap site so if you want to goto a site not in your bookmarks...you have 2 either goto another site and then use the goto...else add a new bookmark for it and then goto it.

2) a couple of others...will add later...i forgot!!! lol

Don't know for th BT issue as I don't have a BT adapter on my PC.
Right for the animation lag. Sound doesn't always play (or not entirely), but I don't see this as a pain as I HATE this Nokia startup sound...

Never noticed the PIN dialog thing.
