View Full Version : Nokia 6600 vs. Canon Powershot A200 (Showdown)

Hello,
Was getting bored so I thought I should get out my digital camera and have a showdown with my camera phone. The pics come later, first a description:

Names:
The pics with name Xcamera.jpg were taken with the Canon, and the pics with the name Xphone.jpg were taken with the Nokia

Settings:
Canon: 640x480 resolution, SuperFine quality, No flash, Autofocus, Auto ISO, Auto white balance.
Nokia: Highest quality (doesn't provide any more settings :rolleyes: )

Lighting:
1camera.jpg, 1phone.jpg, 2camera.jpg, 2phone.jpg, 4camera.jpg, 4phone.jpg were taken indoors at night, under a tubelight.
3camera.jpg, 3phone.jpg were taken indoors at night, under a light bulb.

Shooting mode:
1phone.jpg was taken in standard mode, and 2phone.jpg, 3phone.jpg, 4phone.jpg were taken in night mode.

wow... they are pretty much the same! the camera has a little bit better lightning (very little tho) and its a little sharper... but i say this is really good for a camera phone! one of the best out right now :D

Yeah, the quality of the camera is a bit better, not that much better though. Just less grainy, it's a bit clearer.

Yea. It looks alright. But what about this picture I took with the Nokia 6600

It looks sorta alright.

My philosophy is: the quality of a camera photo picture, depends where your light source is

Think about it....

Yeah, light generally plays a key role, but there are other factors in producing a good picture.

I've found that the 6600 generally performs well in medium amount of light, such as indoors, or at night, under artificial lighting. I have seen its results in sunlight, and believe me they are awful. I'll post some comparisons of photos taken outside later when i get bored once again ;)
