Experiences with your Nokia 6600

Hey Guys,

Ok, I want to know if anyone has a similar feel with their 6600 as I do, I think I need a firmware upgrade (if I can even get one, its v.3.42.1 - 16-10-03 - NHL-10)

1./ When turning the phone on the background appears, then the screen "breaks" in half, and after a few more seconds, the background picture appears and the phone works normally.

2./ Consistantly fails to alert with alarmed calendar notes

3./ locks up constantly!!

Does anyone have these problems? I didn't get the phone brand new, it was the "shop demo" and I am still wondering if there is something weird running on it, is the AutoExecDaemon (4kb) application normal in the packages menu? (as I think this is the thing thats causing problem 1./)

Is it possible to get firmware anywhere other than a Nokia auth. repair centre?

the firmware version 3.42 is full of bugs.

Voice command doesn't work for me all the time

but I've got a problem....I live in the Netherlands and FW v. 4.09 isn't out here. :evil: bummer, we'll just have to wait I guess.

ive had probs with the voice commands and really ths bout it.not upgrading my fone to the new firmware version untill after the hols cos i really need my fone the now.

True i also have troubles with the voice commands, some work some don't and i can't delete the ones that don't work.

Never had this prob before, I don't think. Unless you mean the Menu. Every time after you started up the phone, it takes a while for the Menu to open. Every other time you open the Menu, it's a quick reactive time. If you want your 6600 faster, put the Log down to 1 day. Hmm ... do you have Silent or Meeting activated? I don't seem to have this problem, but it does occur when Silent is enabled ... because it prevents any sounds from being made. Will check this out further ...

3./ locks up constantly!!

Locks up as in frozen? or Locked up, as in requires a Lock Code to go back after a certain period of idle-ness. If you want to turn this off ... go to:
Menu -> Tools -> Settings -> Security -> Lock & SIM -> Autolock period -> Change this the minutes to more, or turn it off

Ok let me explain further:

1./ If I turn the phone on and set it down (not touching it at all) the background appears then goes completely white except for the clock, my telco logo, battery and reception meters.

Put the 1 day logs on a few days ago - works brilliant :-)

2./ I have checked this before, it appears the phone crashes, I cannot use it unless I remove my battery, put it back in and turn the phone back on again.

3./ It freezes, I cannot control the phone.

I think I am due for a firmware update, your from aus (so am I), what version are you using?

I haven't updated it yet. But I don't have those problems. Sometimes I get that locked thing, and I have to remove the battery (which I hate doing). Other than that, I don't have any other problems
