any new of 6620? iam waiting!

anyone knows when nokia official launch 6620? I am still holding my 7650 & not getting 6600 cos of the low quality sound everyone complain after they got the 6600, so hope that they launch the 6620 soon! not interested in 7610 cos of the keypad, i really wonder why nokia designers love weird keypads!

It's like a 'fashion statement' I would presume. Rather strange, and some are crap to actually use for typing, but nice on the eyes.

We appreciate you contacting us about the Nokia 6620 and Nokia 7610 phones. We can provide you with the following information.

We appreciate your comments and feedback on the release of these two Nokia products. However, we are still planning for the release of the Nokia 6620 and Nokia 7610 phones, sometime in the second quarter of 2004.

There will be information and specifications, on the web site at www.nokia.com/us, very soon for both Nokia phones. Also, as new information is made available, we will be updating the web site.

i don't mind the 7610, it's good that nokia has made the move to Megapixel camera's, but it would be the ideal phone for me if it had a higher resolution colour screen.. Maybe 260,000 colours..?

Well... you can do more with bluetooth than what you can with infra-red, so therefore bluetooth is better. :rolleyes:

I am skipping 7610 and I hope the next symbian phone will have IR.
IR is useful to me, not all other phones or other laptops and PC's have BT, IR is more used.

So that and the ugly design of 7610 (please fire your designers) are enough for me to pass on this one.

Comparing the Nokia 6600 with Nokia 7610, in differences:

Dynamic memory: 7610 has 4mb extra, who cares? MMC's around
Camera: 1 Mega Pixel and 4x, Digital Camera's much better. More pixels will come after the 7610 anyway
Video Recorder: 10 mins on 7610, im sure an app will come for 6600

Nokia 6600 is better in:
Wap 2.0 XHTML browser (7610 doesn't have XHTML)
6600 is compatible with more advanced enhancements than the 7610
6600 has infrared (which i use for connectivity between older phones)

That's about it. Not a major improvement, thus not a major upgrade. My 6600 is permanent at the moment ...

Comparing the Nokia 6600 with the 6620, in differences:

6620 has EDGE Technology and extra dynamic memory. That's about it.

Which is why the 6620 and 7610 aren't worth the money you'll be paying for. Unless of course you don't have a fone rite now, or you have a old phone like 3315 etc

Pop port connectivity? What's with pop port? I hate pop port, cause when i used it on the 7250 ... it cost me another $100 just to buy another DKU-5 Usb Cable cause the pins were f*cked up.

I don't want any pop ports ... they easily break in my hands somehow

one question i cant find the answer to is the processors in the 7610 or the 6620, the main reason that the 6600 is so slow is that its running the exact same processor as the 3650/7650 [104mhz arm] but the 6600 has a more complex OS so obvious slow down in running, has nokia upgraded this on the new phones??

Probably not. Nokia just slap on a couple of extras and expect everyone to be happy.

Apart from the use of IrRemote app, I dun see why not using usb cable to transfer :smile:
