Hi

I currently have a 7250i but am looking for a new phone.

Is the video streaming smoother than than the 7250i's is the resoultion better?
Whats the max length of video capture and is it with sound?
Have they fixed the security bug in the bluetooth?
how much mp3 could you fit on the standard memory card?
If you could have any phone would you have a 6230?
Excluding any clamshell phones!
thanks

Dont know about streaming quality vs 7250 as never seen 7250s, nor done any streaming yet, resolution may be better -still 128x128, although TFT screen with 65K colours so most likely an improvement

Max length is 4 minutes with sound, might be possible to get an app to make it longer

No idea re bluetooth bug

You get a 32mb card with it. So 32 mb worth of music if you delete the crap Nokia put on the card. Thats approx 6 songs @ 5mb each. You can put a bigger MMC in it though

I was hanging out for this phone cos it has eveything I ever wanted- small (most important personally), camera with video, memory expansion, bluetooth, radio, mp3, so in answer to your final question yes, if I could have any phone i would be this

hope that helped somewhat

You can reduce the bitrate of the MP3s, so you could fit more on the MMC.

I think the largest MMC size compatiable is 128mb, so that means you can have up to 128mb's of songs.

It looks like an awsome phone, reminds me of Symbian phones the way it can record and has MMC.

I bought a 6230 2 days ago. Great phone. The 65k screen is definitely a big improvement over the 7210/7250 4k screens. It's far clearer and displays colours far more realistically (try displaying orange on a 4k screen and it looks muddy as hell).

Only thing I don't like is the square 'joypad' at the top of the keypad. It works, and it looks ok, but I find it is far too easy to inadvertantly make a 'central' entry when I am actually intending to scroll sideways. You will see what I mean if you try to use the joypad quickly while texting. This is not a reason not to buy the phoen though - it's simply something to be aware of.

The polyphonics are better implemented than on the 7210 - I found that I can use virtually ANY midi downloaded from the net, and it runs compatibly with the phone after uploading using the provided PC suite. My old 7210 used to puke many of these midi files even though the Pc suite claimed to have uploaded them successfully to the phone. The MP3 player is pretty decent, but not of the same sound quality of a standalone MP3 player. Unfortunately, there seems to be no FFW or RWD on the player, which can be frustrating. Playback seems hitch-free though.

All in all, a great handset, with less battery life than my favourite 6310 (which I believe is STILL the best handset Nokia have ever made, bar none), but with an awesome specification. I recommend it.

I've also noticed the battery life is quite poor. Without heavy usage and without leaving bluetooth on it seems to be only lasting me a day and a half before I need to recharge it. My old 6100 with a smaller capacity battery lasted longer and I'm sure my ngage which has the same battery lasted longer for equivalent use. Maybe the 65k TFT screen drains the battery?
