MMC Help Needed

I've been using a 512Mb MMC card on my Ngage when yesterday after failing to install AITalk the phone said the card was corrupted. So i switched the phone on and off a couple of times - nothing changed. So then I used the phone to format the memory card and now my pc won't pick up the ngage with this card in! It doesn't pick it up at all but will auto detect the phone when i use a different card.

Any suggestions?

took out my mmc, after a while, it wun work, had to format, and now, pc wun detect it!!!

Have you tried your MMC card in a card reader/other device or another phone as i don't haave access to these and wonder if this might help?

Ahh, try formatting the MMC using another device. Dunno whether it would work though...

i was tinkin of trying wif a mmc card reader, but i dun haf it... :(

id say invest in a card reader, their very cheap.

did you format the MMC with the phone when you first got the MMC?

golden rule: format the card TWO TIMES with the ngage see if that works...

if not, your partition is corrupted and needs to be deleted and a new partition defined, and the reason its not being picked up by usb is cause there is no FAT16 partition

swing over to n-gage-help.com and search the forums for corrupted mmc cards....theres a wealth of info about that there...

Formatted the card as soon as it came out the packaging, Just been on n-gage-help.com decided i'd better go out and either buy a card reader or find someone with one.

So time to disconnect and start phoning friends and their friends, I'm not quite sure what i've gotta do once i've got the card reader, think i have a copy of mmc medic on a disc somewhere.

If anyone knows what i gotta do or how (something about repartition the card) pls let me know.

Hopefully let you know if this works later on, in the meantime i'll format and format with phone

for my case...

i formatted the mmc card, a NCP 128 mb card, more than 3 times, in both ngage and 3650, still no luck wif detecting it.

but it detect the other NCP mmc!!!

oh boy... i was tinking of changing it for another one at the shop i bought it from... :sad:

with the card reader, just put your mmc in it and your comp should detect it as a removable hard drive. just go to "my computer" and what ever drive letter it is (mines usually H cos i got a 6in1 reader) right hand click on the drive and select format. make sure it isnt selected to do a quick format and select the partition as FAT. see if this works, its what i always do when i want to format my MMC but i have a 3650 and not an n-gage.

try it anyways and see???

Sometimes i wish i hadn't seen the sunshine for then i wouldn't mind the rain!
Eventually got round a friends with a card reader formatted the card from windows explorer, still won't detect in the N-gage by USB. Took the card reader somewhere else used MMC Medic (xp only) formatted card fat16 still not detected when in N-gage. But MMC Medic says larger cards may never become USB detectable again!

AHHHHHHH! Now i'm gonna have to swap lank stuff for his larney card reader.
Mind you it's nice to have loadsa Mp3 and movies again.

When mine did that, my 3650 would not open the camera or menu or anything with the MMC in it after it was corrupted! I brought it back to circuit city and they replaced it! But i think once it does that , ITS DEAD!

Hope the guys at cuircut city didnt retore it and see all my porn. hahahahaahhhahahaaahhahahahahaha

well, i placed the faulty mmc from my 3650 in ngage, plug the cable, i can see the data in there, moved to my pc, formatted it, and it cant detect it since!

wonder wats the prob wif mmc.... :(

well, tzeonn, change it lah, normally ur MMC should come wif a warranty with a year (look at ur receipt) and brands like SANDISK, always comes wif 5 yrs warranty.

however, i feel that if ur fone cant format it nor detect it, i dun tink it works on a pc suite too, since its linked to the fone. get a card reader lah, it oni cost less than S$20 (get ur accessories from sim lim level 4 a shop called infotech elite, look for someone called calvin. they sell really cheap stuff there) . it mayb troublesome to remove the mmc from ur fone, but i tink it might work this way.

oh, btw, pple out there who "enjoy" formatting the MMC.... dun do it too mux, everytime u do it, it literally "EATS" and "DIGEST" ur bytes bit by bit permanently.

ya lor, dang.... but the shop who sold me the mmc... v long lehz.... about 1 yr plus, now go back, exc, a bit "embarrassed".

and im long tinking of investing in a mmc card reader, after i get a spare mmc to transfer videos, mp3s. maybe when i got money to buyy another mmc then get the card reader.
