Anyone have any ideas on how to convert a MPEG4 to REM or AVI or 3GP?

I want to fit more movie on a 32MB MMC Card until I can get hold of a 128MB (budget problems you see lol )

So, what do you need? Any software? Ok, I'll download that software, but how to crack it? Can someone please give me a basic idea to kick start?

I will appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

you could use smartmovie with either the converter you get with it or virtual dub and use your own settings to convert your films

that or you can try RM converter or PV author

PV author is easy to use and gives you pretty good quality and file sizes

a 20 min futurama episode in the highest quality was only 16mb in 3gp format

I've got a 512 Mb card now so i don't have to muck about anymore but what I did in the past was use DVDx 2.2 to encode a dvd to AVI using divx codec. With DVDX2.2 you can specify file output size so can split into different sizes or chapters. Then use helix producer plus or nokia multimedia converter to change to rm or .3gp. Nokia gives smaller files and is easier to use but Helix gives much better quality.

It's not the whole film on one card but it is a possible solution until you can get another card. I do reccomend getting as large a card as possible then you won't have to keep swapping them over all the time.

Good luck.

just found out QuickTime Pro does this. available for I think £25 at www.apple.com/quicktime

but of course there are always ways of not paying ...
