Reduced-Sized MMC is a new industry-standard MMC format which is physically smaller than the regular MMC, but with faster performance. It has the same capacity as the regular MMC, only the physical size was changed. The reason why they created this new format is to allow design of smaller devices. Adapters for the reduced-sized MMC are available so you can use it to your existing devices that uses regular MMC. This means that both the reduced-sized and regular MMC has the same pin assignment.

This is similar to Sony's approach to their regular MemStick, which now comes in smaller package called the MemStick Pro. The MemPro is also faster, and with available adaptor for devices that uses regular MemStick.

Expect other flash card formats to follow this trend, which means more expenses for us connsumers!

Lookin at sample pics of 7610, i wonder if our regular mmc would fit in it...
coz they showed a Rsmmc with adapter.

would that mean that the 7610 still can support Normal mmc?
