Hello! Does anybody have the same problem with seeing 6R21 in the main menu instead of the name Ashen on their ngage. I DL a fix patch but it does work. I went in2 the apps folder & change the name from 6R21 to Ashen & the game is know longer on the main menu screen. So i changed it back 2 6R21 & the game come back 2 the main menu.

The color on my ngage is fine no problem with that, it's just all of my ngage games on the main menu screen have their own names not 3 numbers & a letter it looks wild on my ngage.

If its displaying the directory name in the menu you've installed it incorrectly (or unzipped/unrarred it incorrectly).

There is no need for a fix, because the original version works fine.. and you can't rename the folder of the game either - its called that for a reason.

WHAT IN THE HELL! ru talking about. There is a patch it is on AIVANET & it does WORK. Also if u not sure what ur talking about don't bother leaving posts that u make yourself look bad, also all other ngage games went in fine.I can never install ngage games wrong when i have a cardreader & BT.

this is a problem with the old version of symbian (6.1) that n-gage run. on 6600 the name is always "Ashen". no fix needed. same goes for sonic. when i first installed sonic it sed "SONIC" with only uppercase letters and it then got fixed to "Sonic" by itself

v7e6j5, dont worry, you're not alone on here.

here are the facts:

you'll get '6R21' in your menu if:
a) you have your phone set to a language other than English
b) you download an incorrectly repacked version of the original release, or if you unrar the original release incorrectly (eg. same thing)

so if you fall into category a - then by all means, get the fix (which is an additional resource file, custom created by someone - its not a missing file from the original MMC).

if you fall into category b, you've probably also screwed other files (diffs towards the end of the large packfile.dat file etc).

point is, the pre-release version isn't missing anything from its MMC and doesn't require a fix if you use your phone in english and unrar it properly.. bare in mind, if it were the retail, this wouldnt be an issue - but since its a reviewers copy, its not surprising that some of the package isn't fully polished (obviously has been thru the regionalization process ;))

anything i've missed?

pfft.

Ashen on my ngage never did fix itself from 6R21 to the name Ashen itself until i added that patch. I just didn't care 2c that 6R21 in the main menu.

Hey Joetilo i apologize 4 coming off a little strong b4, & yes it was an issue with language other than English. I could have sworn that my ngage was in English. But hey it's, water-underneath-the-bridge now.

didnt know that. well it isnt like that on 6600 coz i dont have english as the phone language and i can clearly see "Ashen" under the icon :D

yeah, its weird that it would revert to the directory name on n-gage.. you're probably right bout it being a prob with symbian os6.1.. i think with the pre-release version, the caption in the menu ("Ashen") is linked to the icon - so its strange that it ignores it on n-gage if the phone isn't english..

just another 6600 / ngage diff to add to the list.. ;)
