View Full Version : 3650 "sim card registration failed" message but phone works otherwise?
My Nokia 3650 started displaying "sim card registration failed" everytime I exit the menu. The phone itself works, I can place and receive calls and have full reception. As far as I know everything else works too, it's just that it's very annoying having that message pop up everytime. I tried the sim in a different phone, works no problem. Any ideas? Could it be caused by some app or game I installed? (It happened on a second day after I started installing different thing and uploading files to it, didn't have a problem before).

have you got the latest firmware on it v4.13 (crappest firmware ive had). i have this on my 3650, and i kept getting the sim registration failed error when exiting the menu, nothing to do with any software i dont think, i just formatted my phone because it wouldnt boot properly since i got this firmware. i dont get that error any more but it still doenst boot perfectly every time.
check out a post called boot problems by sony_ericson, a few people have had the same problem with the sim error
Thanks, I was looking through many pages of posts and couldn't find anything before, this helps a bit, I guess I'm not alone with this...
yep, it's 4.13 , I didn't even bother to check when I bought it, I'll try putting a different sim in the phone and see what happens and probably format the phone as well

your sim card is dead go buy another one
I fixed it, all I had to do was put a different sim in the phone, turn it on and off again and put my own sim back in the phone. It works perfectly now.

My "SIM-card registration error" just disappeared and I'm not sure why. But the phone still has problems booting. I am fairly certain now that it has something to do with my SIM-card, although it works perfectly in other phones. I'm getting a new SIM-card now. But you are right that the firmware is crappy, since everything worked perfectly with the old firmware.
