I spend a lot of time in my truck and more often than none my stereo is too loud to hear my ringing cell phone. I know I can fix this by mounting a car kit that wires to the ATT on the back of my head unit but if your like me nothing is getting mounted to my dash.

Here is my brain fart:
My 6800 has infrared. Are there any to emulate the ATT command on my stereo remote with the phone, preferably automatic when getting a call. I have heard of a app called irremote but am not sure if this is what im looking for.

Is this possible? Is this post in the right place?

Hello :)

The 6800 is a series-40 phone. With those phones, JAVA software can NOT control, or use, the phone's ports (IR and Pop-Port). So IRremote won't work on that phone, for that reason it is also not even available for serie-40 phones.

And, even it WOULD work, you would need to keep the phone's IR and that of the stereo aligned. Impossible.

So, in short: No way.
