Ok, the latest news and goss collected from n-gage.com forums:

1. N-Gage QD release in UK seems to have slipped from mid-May to June

2. N-Gage Arena Launcher seems to be planned for release in Summer. Due to N-Gage QD slippage, this may be delayed to. So may BL-6C?

3. A member of the n-gage.com forums has a pre-release N-Gage QD. He is 99.9% sure that the BL-6C battery is the same size as the N-Gage/6600 BL-5C. Guess this is good news for all BL-5C users!

4. You guys like the idea of N-Gage Demos? As in, a special or never-before-seen level that people can download and play on their N-Gage, to see if the game is worthy of buying ... that way I can play a bit of Pathway to Glory :D

5. Apparently ... If you pre-order your N-Gage QD at http://www.allack.co.uk/, you get a free copy of the game "The Sims Bustin Out" - shut up, dont talk about cracks or warez!

For anyone who thinks Nokia has given up hope on the original N-Gage, they haven't.

There is an ad at http://www.n-gage.com/qd/en-US/main.html?gameid=0.

If you view the N-Gage QD photos, it says "Optimized Game Play"
--- This is true, because the N-Gage QD has hot-swappable games, game shortcut key and a "brightest" 4096 colour screen

If you view the N-Gage photos, it says "the complete entertainment system"
--- This is true, because it has MP3 Player, FM Radio, USB Connection and is a Tri-band phone

This shows that Nokia is changing the N-Gage and N-Gage QD image.
If you are serious about games and nothing else, the N-Gage QD is for you
If you want a bit of music and games, than N-Gage is for you

Nokia is trying to sell both N-Gages on the market as "different" devices for different people's likings

The N-Gage isn't going to die ... YET. Shall the N-Gage QD bring more games alive ...

well, i'd say to each his own.

some only wan games, others wan mp3/radio. and of course, talking on ngage is a joke, unless u use it for radio, mp3 and games only.

i got ppl telling me ngage sucks, and they are changing their ngage for QD. well, they only haf gaming in mind.

While I was going to watch Troy, I saw a game shop in Brisbane called "EB Games". I saw an ad. I saw on it ... the N-Gage QD ...

It will be released in June 2004 in Australia. Unless its delayed

Should be the same in the rest of the world.

I'm not looking forward to it. I like the N-Gage "entertainment system". But I love Nokia ads on the streets ...

I doubt that as well. Nokia is trying to make two devices that are similar, but for two groups of people

N-Gage for people who don't mind side-talking. A bit of games, but mp3s and radio is a must

N-Gage QD for people who are serious about games, can't stand side-talking and mp3/radio is not a neccessity

N-Gage QD won't have radio or mp3. I think Nokia is just trying to capture the gaming market through a "similar, but different device" called QD

When my N-Gage was stolen, I thought it was a good thing. Get my insurance money back, and I'm out of harm's way. Especially when there is a new N-Gage version coming out.

Dang! The new N-Gage version is called N-Gage QD and it has no mp3 nor radio! That's worse than my first n-Gage! I wish it didn't get stolen.

Few days before I actually decided to buy an N-gage, news came out on NFREE and n-gage.com that more games were on the way! Wow ... I feel certain the N-Gage will live another 2 years minimum now ...

To confirm any rumours:

The N-Gage QD is being released not to put down the original N-Gage. It is designed to achieve certain goals, trying to fix most "errors" that majority of people have mentioned. With the release of the N-Gage QD, Nokia can concentrate on software, rather than hardware - in their attempt to capture the gaming market, like they did in the cell phone market.


In the next six months Nokia will adapt a new set of goals and priorities to help ensure the N-Gage progresses towards success, beginning with the recently unveiled N-Gage QD. The QD was designed to suit the demands expressed by players in every possible way. The goal in creating the QD was to resolve any issues players may have with the hardware, so that they can focus on the more important issue of software. With the issue of creating a stable platform out of the way (we can personally attest that the majority of the present media -- ourselves included -- not only considered the QD hardware stable, but a very considerable improvement), the next hurtle for Nokia would be to create a library of original and widely varied content.

The aim of this post? Nokia is releasing the QD not to piss the original N-Gagers off, but to concentrate on software! Long live the N-Gage

I went to ask EB Games Boutique store "when will the N-Gage QD be released?" (I was on my way to watch "The Day After Tomorrow" in the same cinema as Troy ...)
They answered "1st of July". Looks like Nokia delayed it for us Down Under. Not sure about the rest of the world

Btw, I saw that store selling Sega Rally for AUD$54.95. See? It is released ...

I have tried the new N-gage QD too. My opinion... although the size caught my eyes, the screen was a dissapointment. It was too bright that the colour aren't 'rich'.

By the way, I can comfirm that Sega Rally is out in the stores in my country..Virtua Cop too.
