Some info on flashing.. hacking 7210's

im not sure if ive misunderstood things ive read on this site but do some of you guys like flash your own hexed/hacked firmware versions.. if so.. like what sorta changes or functions did you add to it which made it different? im really intrested in this and would love to start exploring..

i got a 7210 (not 7210i)...
if its worth it i would prolly upgrade.
