HELP...nokia 7650 problem

NOKIA 7650 i did it phone was fine but i needed to change the housing for a different colour, looks very nice now but is not working properly, since putting it back together i have a problem when i switch the phone on, i get the earphones/headset icon on the screen and all of my sounds are about half volume like when you play through the hands free by pushing the side button but when the phone receives calls i have no sound in my ear, i have looked at the connections on the speakers at the top of the phone but they seem to be okay , i have tried the original housing again but the icon is still on the screen and the same problems, anybody know how i can sort this problem out i have also tried the settings in profiles for headset and loopset but they do not help either ... is it one for the bin thanks

Sounds like you have shorted out the handsfree socket somewhere along the line. Im not sure how you could fix it. You could try looking at the socket for any damage, and if thats fine, try looking all over the circuit board for any damage. I would say take it to a nokia service centre, but they won't like it that you have opened it up, so thats not gonna work. If you can't fix it and don't want to bin it, you would just use the handfree for all calls. Not a very good solution, but might be the only one.

there doesnt seem to be a handsfree socket on these phones ,at the top there is a port for the infa red but nowhere to put handsfree in it .the only socket on these phones is the power port with 3 metal contacts on it , which is strange because i have a data cable for it aswell but cannot see where to connect this either, i just use the ir

there is a socket on the top of the phone for a handsfree but you could have done what i did and put it back in the wrong way also check the new on-off button works ok because i had a bit of trouble with mine when it was new it did not sit in properly

thanks for your help i cant believe i overlooked that piece i even removed it and tried but i have turned it around and hey presto all is fine still a bugga to switch on but it was before i changed the case so i can overlook that once again many thanks rich

well glad i could help m8 done the same thing when i changed mine also i put the old on-off button back in the end as it worked better than the new one has to be set just right or it wont work properly see ya

hey guys i also have a 7650 and i had a few probs, installed soem software in ird and now the phone boots up to a blank screen . i need to get a lead to get into the system of the pone but how do i do this???????


is there a lead or a reset instde the unit itself?

please help me on this 1 thanks
