Unlocked my 3390, now no signal?flash?

I managed to figure out how to unlock my Nokia 3390 but now I do not have a signal using my Cingular sim card. I've read in several other threads that it must be re-flashed. What is flashing? How do I do it? Do I need some software or hardware? :-?
