6600 help installing apps for beginner!!!

Hi to all,
After reading on this site about nokia 6600 I decided to get one,the only problem is I dont know how to install applications,I have a bloothtooth dongle and a mmc reader.I really do not have a clue where to put apps etc.

I want to install ultra mp3 etc

I would be very grateful if anyone could point my in the direction of an 'idiots' guide to installing applications etc

I honestly do not know what I am doing and any help is very well appreciated.

using bt to install apps...

right click on the app, then choose send to via bt on ur pc. it will end up in the inbox of ur fone, install from there. same for both symbian games/apps (.sis files) and java games (.jar files).

u can use mmc card reader to move big files, like movies, mp3s. its much faster this way.

and i recommend that u install a file manager, like fexplorer or seleq, as they will come in handy later.

read up on the sticky for symbian tricks and hints.

and another tip, u can use the mmc to store inbox, incase the item u wanna send is bigger than ur fone mem. go to messages, options, settings, other, set mem in use to mmc. (not applicable to ngage)

thanks alot mate where can i get fexplorer and other apps?Also I have tried to send ultramp3 but it is not working,

do i send the whole folder or what?I hav the following files ximpda,x-ultmp3.rar and the readme file please advise

use irc to get wat u want. theres an irc faq in the symbian faqs section. or u could go aivanet.com, incredimobiles.com, etc.

extract the .rar file wif winrar. like i said, only send the .sis/.jar file.

read the installing java faq too, some might require renaming.

thanks sorry I only got it today and I really am an amateur lol i sent the .rar file and when i go to my inbox and try to open it it says unknown file format

.rar is juz like a .zip file, its compressed file format, u need to extract it.

i recommend using iceows, from www.iceows.com . it extracts .rar, .zip and many more and makes zip files, wats more its free!
