6600 - why is it so quiet!

Recently just managed to install the entire third lord of the rings film onto my nokia 6600's 256mb mmc. But imgaine my dissappointment when i realised just how quiet the sound comes out of the headphones! It's barely audible on full volume when there just a small amount of background noise. (I'm using the nokia headphones that came standard with my old 8310 - type-hdd-1) I know it's possible to raise the sound of the .rm file while your making it - in helix producer plus, but i did not make the file and i do not have access to a non-rm version of it.

What do i have to buy/mod to make rm movies (and for that matter ultra mp3!) files louder?

Go to Menu - settings - headset (or something dont know the englih translation) - headset in use - select loopset in stead of headset.

This trick works on Ultramp3, not sure about Realplayer but its worth a shot.

I cant test it myself since i've lost my headset.

I recommend converting it to smartmovie. there's a sound boost option in the converter program. not to mention you can toggle it from landscape to portrait using up the full screen!

Otherwise, you'll need to resample it in helix. helix will look for other media formats. change the format listing when opening a file to *.* and select your .rm file. and you can resample it with the sound output higher. :)

Monkey man you are a legend. You failed to point out one thing though, when the phone is set to loopset, the loudspeaker stays on.... I was unaware of this... the other people on the bus WERE aware of this... they were also aware that i was watching finding nemo! lets just say the whole experience hasn't really added to my street cred...

Plug your headset in after you've opend the video, that way it only plays over the headset.

And guys don't get me wrong, I love Nemo as much as the next guy. But on a crowded bus to be laughed at by reasonably attractive women, is quite morale crushing. My MMC is now stocked up with man-ly films that i can watch in stereo without embarrassment...
(My finding Nemo viewing continues secretly, out of the public eye)
