3g network and dct3 phones!

i know that the 3g network does not work in any other phones apart from the ones that 3g suply.

im wondering, is it possible to modify the flash of a 3310 or similar, so that it acepts the 3g network?

i think its a bit crap carrying a brick around all the time, as the the 3g phones are massive!

it would be ecellent if we could modify the flash or phone to accept 3g network.

is there a way?

No because it is HARDWARE based you dont think a CDMA phone will work on a GSM network now do you? its the same with UMTS.
