pc suite is not recognizing it. the mrouter doesn't read it either. it detects the proper bluetooth/com port "which defaults to the very last port after the Bluetooth one" but doesn't connect.
Same thing with Oxygen phone manager. no detect.
Has anybody had success with the usb datacables? i've installed the drivers that comes with it. and the cable is being detected. so it's not a Cable issue that i can find.
Please post your settings if you where succesfull in setting this up. Thanks in advance! :)

Seeing that the Nokia 6600 isn't made for USB connections and you are probably using 3rd party usb cable ...
Obviously the mRouter won't pick it up. It can only pick up Bluetooth and/or Infrared
I think the phone connects to the computer through the "special" software that came with your USB cable. Check with it ...

it accesses the contacts to the side of the simcard.
so the simcard... here's a pic

it's to eBay. it's the one i got.
Well the simcard comes out, the contacts fit in where the simcard is + the 3 contacts to the side of the sim slot. battery & simcard piggyback onto the device. in essence, i think the firmware can be modified with this. i just need some software. but generically i'd like to use it as a serial connection.
the bluetooth connection for the pc-suite always crashed during the backup. Thas is the connection always stopped. but it would be fine in any other function use aside from backup.
I'd also like to be able to get into the firmware. but that's a whole other story :D

Can I ask:
Why bother buying a USB DataCable when the 6600 wasn't even designed for cable-usage?
It's obvious the 6600 was designed for Wireless Connectivity. Only Bluetooth and Infrared ...
Just my 2 cents

while trying to do a phone backup. the bluetooth connection always drops. so i haven't had a clean backup yet. which kinda worries me. "i tend to crash and break things..." ie: i've reinstalled windows on this pc 3 times this year :D
