Well, many people swear by each, so time for a poll. Some will only use the 6600 style joystick, others only the "coin" style pad on the 3650 and the soon to be released 7610. Lets see what you all think!!

Coin = D-Pad right? :-P

I sold my 6600, and going to get 7610 once its out. Mainly because the 6600 joystick was irritating me, as it was very loose. Couldn't be bothered to get it fixed. So I sold it.

I won't be playing any N-Gage games on the 7610, even if they work. As I can't risk wrecking another great phone ...

Yeah, coin, d-pad, whatever you want to call it. I chose coin cuz most site refer to it as that, but i'm sure everyone will know what i'm going on about. I've used my 3650 for a fair bit of gaming and the pad is still going strong. Praps thats why nokia decided to use it again on the 7610. Who knows...

The D-Pad is better than joystick for me...now my 6600 joystick started to loose >.<

I will wait untill 7610 released and i will try one...if i like it i'll buy it :lol: .

joystick has nice idea to it just the ones we see current are poor very poor quality, 7650 the rubber wore away to reveal this horrible white plastic thing and 6600 one loosens up really quickly an feels as if its gonna break off soon, i prefer the solid feel of the d-pad

Hmm... Might be the place to ask this... does the D-pad have the possibility of pressing 2 adjacent directions together?

No, not really... Well, you could make an 8 way out of it by adding extra contacts on the PCB, so yes, in theory...

Okay, I was thinking of games as I am stuck somewhere in Rayman 3 and thought maybe it was needed to crouch AND walk at the same time, and that with the joystick this was not possible.... so it's something else :-P

Yeah, for that you'll need an ngage, as by the sounds of it, you are playing an ngage game.

D-pad - finished sonic n with my 3650 with difficulty - would have been impossible with 6600!

Trust me, as an ex-6600 owner ... it was difficult to play Sonic on the 6600. Plus, it screwed up the joystick. Wasn't worth it. I've sold it, and waiting for 7610 :lol:

I finished it on the 6600. Wasnt too hard once you get used to it.

I would like to see you try! You could add contacts or whatever, but those have to be connected to a chip somewhere. Dont worry i know you were joking....

All said though the joystick in the 6600 isnt the best. However I like the concept more than the D-pad after having phones with both, so gonna have to go with that.

Oh, I wasn't talking about a mod you could do to your phone!! I was talking about what nokia could do to get it working for a future model!! LOL :D

yeah me too. i finished it with all characters exept the last level with amy. but trust me... the bonuses are 100% impossible. i actually did manage to clear the first and second bonus. but only after about 40 tries and there is no way i could do the 3rd and so on.

After using 7650 then 3650 and now 6600, I choose coin pad over joystick, mainly because of the comfort factor. Joystick is a pain to use, I feel like having a hole in my thumb after using it for extended time!
