I just had my 6510 in for a software upgrade, when I took it in it was unlocked (from factory? who knows?) and I was told that it would probably get locked back to the original provider ( found out by CODE in back of fone under the batt). fone went in with only 5 screws holding it together and it came out with 6, went in unlocked and came out unlocked, software was upgraded from 3.22 to 4.06 (good service for free!). This backs up my belief that the lock info is held in the PPM area as with most other nokia's so that it did'nt get locked.

Also I saw on the wall that the service centre had certificates commending the staff on passing courses on DCT3.5 (3.5? are these the 3330 v4.3 and up?) interesting points.

you cant upgrade your 6510 yourself unless you have a very expensive flashing kit, I was just sharing my experience of nokia service centres with you all! your phone will still be within warranty so take it to a nokia service centre and get it done free, the 6510's have only been out for a few months so there all within warranty. The code in the back of mine is 0507241, I dont know how the CODE system works so please dont ask :)

Dave.
