Hello all, stumbled accross this unlock method and it DOES work, only thing is you cant send/received text messages and you cant access your contacts list, but you CAN make phone calls !!!! :-
Instructions - remember may not work for all...
Power up phone
#4960*12345678#
*4960*12345678*12345678# (ignore USIM Lock On message)
Switch off phone and replace sim
Says Insert USIM, press emergency button
Don't enter anything but wait for it to ask for unlock code
Enter 12345678
Says USIM Lock Off
***IMPORTANT - BE CAREFUL WHEN DO NEXT BIT OTHERWISE YOU GET THROUGH TO EMERGENCY NUMBER ***
Enter 112 on handset and press dial
Say yes to swap network
As soon as it changes network HANGUP (do not let it continue dialling)
The 3G will change to 2.5 (o2) or 2 (vf)
Within about 15secs you should get your sim provider logo
You can now dial out/recieve calls - but cant do text, wap or access your contacts list.
With an o2 sim the phone menu (topleft) icon changes to a simcard and when choose this lists the o2 services numbers available.
WARNING !!!!
I have heard that this has caused probs for some people when they go to use their 3 sim again !!!!
