Nokia 3390-----help!

My Girlfriend washed her old phone in the washing machine and is now dead! I got a Nokia 3390 on Ebay to replace her phone. I fiqured I could switch the sim card and it would work since she has cingular and the phone on ebay is from cingular. Well it didnt! It says sim card not accepted. I then payed a guy to "unlock it" and every code he gave me the phone said,"not allowed" I bought a USB superGSM Reader/writer but have no clue on what to enter.
We are going on vacation next week and need a phone, but dont want to spend a lot of money for one. Anyone have any ideas?

it is obviously not locked to cingular ...otherwise the sim would be accepted

you can unlock it direct with a serial (not usb) data cable and Roils software...or look for a shop locally that can unlock it directly

Does anyone have software for the USB version of the Super GSM Reader?????
