I didn't handle a QD yet so I can't really judge about the grip, screen, looks n stuff but if it has less functionalities (no mp3, no radio, dualband, ?) the battery should last a bit longer for the games, right? And hot swappable is not very usefull unless you own a bunch of gamecards that cost around 30-50$ each so.. Why didn't they just call it the N-Gameboy? I say: "N-Gage Original for me!" to bad we allready have to call it that so soon...

That's what I was talking about. It's not even a year on the market and it's allready called an old thing. Guys, you should realise that the N-Gage QD is a downgrade of software compared to the first because it looses features like radio and mp3. You could call it N-Gage Series60 Light if you will.

u cant, u need to modify the files to make them playable on another mmc.

and in some places, ngage is cheaper.

Things there in both the devices, things i needed in both the devices

Brighter screen - If u could tell me is theres really a difference on both the devices
Small or Big - I will prefer small , but if big also theres no problem
Hot Swap - Don't know whether its really needed, but i will tell u one thing that i am not going to buy more of mmc cards for playing games , i will use mmc cards for applications , symbian applications or watching movies and mp3s , i will play games but not buy a mmc for it.
Mp3 - yeah mp3 is needed but in ngage qd u can install software and mp3 can be played , howz the clearity, as clearity doesn't really matters, the only things which matters is , if i listen mp3 from ngage qd is the sound normal ,loud and clear, if its clear than tell , as the only things matters is mp3 should be there , if its clear than its good
USB - Tell me whether its really needed , as i have a mmc reader with me. wat is the use of USB port , file transfer which i can do it with mmc reader, but its a different thing as i have to remove the mmc to do it. If its really needed than tell me.
Free MMC Card - I think in ngage qd if its costly than the old one than they should have provided a free mmc too. but they haven't , please reconfirm whether nokia is officially providing a free mmc with qd or not.
Looks Wise - It should look good. N Gage Qd anyways looks good.But as a users, u all people tell me whether ngage is look wise looking worse or not worse but better.
Battery - I would like to have a good bettery life. I will be spending 3 to 6 hours a day not on playing games but downloading using applications and doing some r n d in the fone and watching movies.
FM Radio - not really needed, but its there than obviously it will be good.
Side Talkin or Classic Talkin - Classic talkin i prefer. But is side talking really a burden using that fone.
Camera - will in future i will be able to attach camera on that fone.

Recommend me a fone which you think will be better in terms of my usage

everyone knows the functional differences - if you really want to compare the looks, check out the old n-gage in the dark - the red keypad keys look really great !

wots all this mp3 player crap yeah the qd dont come with mp3 player but as soon as ya get home just stick mp3 player on ya phone job done i got 30 mp3`s on mine qd does everything the old one does except for the radio i sure would not use that.so it comes down to size en looks.en lets face it ya look a right tit side talkin on one of them old style fake carbon brick ngages :-P i always wanted to get a ngage but refused to buy the first because it was so big en the side talk thing so when they released the qd i gev my missus my 6600 en went en bought a qd :lol:

In my opinion, the N-Gage 1 has better look and features. The only problem I see on it is the side-talking, but u still can drill a hole on the back cover and talk as a normal phone… :D
I wouldn't swap it for a QD (what does QD mean btw??? :-? )

It was the price that decided it for me, £80 for an ngage or £180 for a qd, not much of a choice to make really especially when I only use it for games.

The hot swap would be really useful despite what others in this thread have said, I always use my mmc reader to transfer files because to the transfer speed so hot swap would be a godsend.

Yeah, I talked to the guy today. He says it's cheap because his son who owns it, lost the receipt. So there's probably no warranty on it. Another guy is looking at it this afternoon... But if he doesn't buy it, I will. :smile:

The price of the qd has came right down in the last month, you can get one from toys r us for £99 and a game for £9.99 if you want, pretty cheap compared with the £180 it was at release.
