Insert sim card on 6100

Hi,
I bought a 6100 the other day very cheap,
because the owner couldn't get it working after dropping it.

There is no apparent damage,and it turns on fine, but no matter what sim is put in it it still says "Insert sim card"

I did have it working briefly on my o2 sim but the same message came up again after five minutes.

It's a smashing little phone,
and I'm wondering if there is something I could do to fix it.

Any ideas are gladly recieved.Thanks

:D After searching this forum it sounded to me as if this phone was water damaged rather than dropped so I took the wife's hair dryer to it and it works fine now.
Thanks to all the people who post on this site, as you've made me very happy.
I've got a new phone for peanuts.
