First try starting it up without the mmc card in it, if that doesnt work try safe mode (hold the pencil key during startup). If that doesnt work you'll have to try the 6600's second format code (i dunno if it's been tried on an ngage qd before) you need to hold the 3,* and green buttons during startup (i think this is the right buttons). If that doesnt work, send the bugger back.

If he gets past the startup he should also format the phone. This sounds however like an infamous S60 bug, that only can be cured by flashing the phone.

take out mmc see if it works, if it doesnt, u need to flash the phone at nokia.
else, format mmc in digicam or another device.

That 3 + * + Green Key doesn't work, I think that it is only for the 6600.
I'd say that taking your phone to Nokia Care will be the only solution. It's the only way that I ended up fixing my N-Gage.

Trust Nokia. They come up with a good idea (the 3 + * +green code) then fail to implement it in their new phones, toolbags!

I wonder if the Green * 3 works on the Nokia 7610 ...
Can't try it now, will when the phone is dying on me :D

It may have... but so far I think that only the 6600 can use that.
