Hi all

For some reason my 6600 won't recognise my Bluemate Bluetooth 616 - probably because I changed the phone name - I don't know why exactly. Of course the headset only came with a sheet of paper as instructions which went to the bin. Is there a way of restoring factory settings on the headset so it I can pair it with my phone again?

Please help.

Thanks in advance

with my jabra bt200 reseting it by connecting it to its cradle charger, with the charger plugged to an electrical outlet, and remove it approx 3 sec.

try it with your Bluemate........if it does too

Ok so by luck I have managed to reset the headset. Hold down the button until the red light flashes. A lack of patience and pushing all the buttons at once works to my advantage for a change! But now I'm getting " Bluetooth Handsfree profile not supported by headset" when I try to connect to it. Does anyone else have one of these headsets? Can you help? Cheers

With this Bluetooth Headset, when you are pairing the device you'll have to press the button till you listen two beep sounds indicating you that the headset is changing from headset profile to handsfree profile.

Best Regards

I hold the power button down untill is shows both the green and red light

hi,

it does support this profile, there is just a bit more to it.

I will instruct you how to pair with handsfree mode

1. Push button till you hear two short tones and follow 4 tones. Then release the button. You will see both lights "Green" and "Red" are lighting on.
It indicates the headset is in Headset mode.
2. Just regularly push button again, don't press too long. Just regular push button. And you will hear two tones. Once again, both light"Green" and "Red" are lighting on. It indicates the headset is in Handsfree mode. Then you can pair mobile phone and headset now.

Why do they bother to supply instructions if they are usless eh?

The instructions that come with the headset a very vague. I've noticed that if you don't set the headset as authorised you have to go through this process if you have turned your phone off since you last connected to the headset. Once authorised - no problem.
On the subject of the headset, I have UltraMP3 installed on my phone and like to use it to listen to my music but it doesn't play through the headset if connected - in fact if the headset is connected the phone won't play them at all. Is there any other MP3 player which will enable this.

Cheers
