Hi guys.

Hope you guys are all well down there.

Well what i need is some brainy guys.

One of my friends came up with a brilliant idea!

He says he wants to install the 5110/6110 in his car and when his car alarm goes on, the phone should sms him to let him know that there is an intruder etc.
And he must be able to sms the car back with a special sms to maybe activate a relay to cut off the fuel pump etc.
Why a special sms is because we dont want anybody switching off the car while cruising on the highway at 150km+

We need to have some pics written.
We are willing to pay for any body that can help us develope something like this.

It is quite urgent.

Hi people

I am also interested in sending information using a 5110. Whether the information is via SMS or being able to dial in and recieve what ever data I put on the mbus. I have thought of fbus, but would prefer using mbus because of the speed. I only need a low output speed of the data.

I am going to be using a pic micro - probably p16f876A to read data fom a source (4800 baud) and then retransmit some of that information via the 5110. I have tried, to no avail to initiate the pic. I have use dthe 55 "u"s and also "1f 00 1d d0 00 01 04 02 d5".

Ok so here the thing, what am I doing wrong or what do I need to do that I am not doing :-?

Hi All

Well I have progressed slighltly with this or at least I think I have. What I have leaned is that to use a 5110, we will need to use the pdu. Something which at this stage I am reluctant to do for a number of reasons - although with the right kind of motivation I am prepared to do.

I believe that using a 6210, can be done with AT commands - although I can not get this done. At present I am trying to use my laptop to connect with my 6210, but unsuccesfully. Data transfer to the 5110 relies on the software modem (driver) in Nokia data suite to communicate, but I believe that this is not needed for the 6210.So its not really an option using NDS or driver as a pic will not understand the drivers.

Hence I am back trying to pic your guys brains - is there anyone out there.

Email me at [email protected]

Thanks
Grant

I have read ur post. Im also doing similar programs for the pic to communicate with the 5110. Ur using the right pic but you should use 11200 as ur baud rate. This is the baud rate of 5110's FBUS.
