7250i "sim card rejected"

My mom's 7250i shows this message when it's left idle.
The phone was newly bought a month ago.
The first SIM card was rejected (Celcom Malaysia 32k Postpaid) and finally the phone refused to start at all.
But my SIM card, (Maxis Malaysia Hotlink 32k Prepaid) wasn't rejected by the phone.
Now my mom upgraded to a 64k SIM and it still shows the message.
Any reason for this?
The phone also shuts off after awhile, even when the battery is full. :-? :-?

i'm just guessing but would it be because yours is a 'hotlink' SIM card perhaps?

Um, the hotlink SIM card is a prepaid SIM card, a fully functional one.
In other words, a normal 32k SIM card. In Malaysia, anyways.

it happens to me as well even though i am using T-Mobile
