Default Phone Code is now 0000 like when the phone was new :) ----------------------
Hi Everybody.

You probably know this solution to make a factory reset to your phone including the security code,

which will be made default value as 0000:

So, with this solution, i started playing a bit with it. In the GX10i flash (the one decryped by me

that you can find at http://crux.yeldar.co.uk ) i searched with a Hex Editor for the value

"EE_FORMAT START" and i found out it was on the option 99 of the diagnostics menu. So, probably

there would be other options. What would they do? ;)

After a while, i got from the flash all descryptions for the function as shown here:

Now a small descryption: Every functions with "Diag Function" doesnt seem to do anything at all.
To access the menu, do the steps at the tuturial above until you input number 99. Instead putting 99

select any other function number you wish and put the function number and press the Top Right menu.
You should now see other options to that function. As far as i know no function except 99 can really

make any change in the phone, since when u turn it off it will discard changes.

Now, the function i have played more until now was F33 (Camera Control) and here you have a small

description on How to use it:

Key - Function - Values
1 - VfrCtrl - On/Off
2 - CbCtrl - On/Off
3 - DnCtrl - On/Off
4 - GainCtrl - On/Off
5 - WbCtrl - On/Off
6 - Addr:___Data:___
7 - FcamMode - 50Hz/60Hz
0 - Cam Mode: - WIDE / CIF / ZOOM
* - Small Help
# - BackLight - On/Off
Top Left - Pause Camera
Top Right - Back to Menu
M - Save Paramters
Up - Bright Up - -2 / -1 / 0 / 1 / 2
Down - Bright Down - -2 / -1 / 0 / 1 / 2
Left - Move Image
Right - Move Image

Play with it. when you get any news related to it, please post here. I will be waiting. I have

tested all functions in gx10i already and none was harmfull with my gx10i. So, there should be no

problem. This diagnostics should be used by sharp to check hardware and software faults.

PS: Can anyone find out what is the F28 (Imei Code) for? It ask for a 4 digits code. Now this one

made me think. Should it be related to unlock or IMEI changing? ;)

EDIT: be carefull with function 73 (Flash Check)
it will temporary kill your phone. (to fix it, use function F99-01)

Be carefull with function 73 - Flash Check, my gx10i died after using it. I ressurected it doing a format like shown above. Needless to say that I lost all my games, sounds, pictures, phonebook, link's and all costumizations. That's what you get when mess with what you don't know...

You can add function "F00 Product Flg" to your list, I haven't tested it yet, I'm still traumatized by losing all my stuff :)

mptc: You say that you lost "customisations" when you formatted the phone... do you mean the vodafone customised menus? Also, did that leave the phone without any software on (so you had to then flash it to get it working again?) or did it leave it with the standard GX10i software on without the vodafone stuff?

Crux

no. it didnt remove vodafone's stuff

The M Key is not 6 (as in the letter m) the M key is the middle key which you use to take photos with the camera - hope this cleared tht up :-)

Can anyone tell me how to get the Sharp GX30 NCK Code...

I already know i can get it by calling Vodafone, but is there any other way ???

as far as i know you type
*01763*6371# enable MEP menu
press select go to settings,
then down to security,
then to MEP locks,
then handset code is 0000,
then click on network and press deactivate

but at this point it is looking for a NCK code ,
now this code is different for every phone so i have no idea how to get this code.

Hi guys,

Heres my problem, i bought a GX10i off my sister and unlocked it myself using THIS: (http://216.239.39.104/translate_c?&u=http://www.unlockeasy.com/modules.php%3Fname%3DDownloads%26d_op%3Dgetit%26lid%3D571)
but since i havent been able to access the phone with any software?

So just curious but how do i do a completely full reset/format of the phone? It is a
Sharp GX10i but when i view the user menu like stated at the top i get this info.

Hi there,

I had a play around with this and it has left my phone requiring a code on start up that then takes me back to the Manual Diag Mode...!!

How on earth do I get back to the normal phone mode....????

Also...

Whilst Im here...

I have about 6 GX10i's that all need either firmware updates, flashing etc..

Can you give me some advice on where I get the software and how I go about it..

I have download many 'unlockers', bought a serial cable.. and still I cant get anywhere with them...
My PC runs on Win 98, I cant even connect my phone up with the standard software supplied with the phone... Though my phones show the cable icon...!!

This is really doing my head in now, as I must have six different 'unlockers' and no results..

My appreciate some guidance...

I have also Samsung e700's needing upto date firmware... Panasonic GD87's and Motorola V66s..

Some heavy guidance required...
