Pour battery life - Nok3100

In standby mode it only lasts max. 7 days (instead of 17, advertised). Bought the phone six weeks ago. Network: Rogers AT&T.
What can be the problem?

i actually have a 3100, it definatly dosn't last 17 days standby,

i would guess that by "days" they don't mean for 24 hr's as the most people would assume, that's marketing for ya
